Meet the Team Behind Wild Rose Dog Training

Owner/Head Trainer

Wild Rose dog training was founded in 2022 by Kayla Rose Maddox. She is from St. Louis Missouri and received her Bachelor of Science at the University of Missouri-Columbia for Animal Science and Captive Wild Animal Management. She has 14 years experience working with a wide range of animals including companion, farm, and exotic. Her love of her furry companions pushed her in direction of dog training. She has had hands on training experience working at the Humane Society of Indianapolis, PetSmart, and of course, training her own pets. She is also a certified trainer through the AKC for all Canine Good Citizen tests.

Kayla has experience working with brand new puppies that need training in basic manners to older dogs with troubled pasts. Her use of positive leadership style dog training has been very successful for many dog owners. Our goal is for your dog to be responsive to what you say the first time, while having fun and building a strong connection between you and your furry friend. Every dog trains differently. With this flexible approach to dog training, Kayla will help you and your pup get to where you need to be!

Kayla has three dogs of her own (pictured below) in her furry family.

Leonardo is a Plott Hound Dalmatian Mix. Kayla’s oldest dog has been helping her with dog socialization private lessons for ten years. He is registered as an emotional support dog and has his CGC certification. At the end of the day, he enjoys sunbathing on the back porch and a good bone.

Kayla’s middle child is Charlie Barley. She is a 2-year-old, red tri, standard, Australian shepherd. Charlie is the introvert of the family, but she doesn’t mind helping her mom out with training. Just like her older brother Leo, as long as she gets her belly rubs for payment, she is a happy pup!

The youngest dog in the Maddox family is Mia Bia. She is a one-year-old blue merle, standard, Australian shepherd. She is currently in training to take over for her brother, Leonardo, so he can retire. She is worlds happiest dog and has never met stranger that was not her best friend.

With three very different personalities, Kayla has the experience to figure out what is behind the issues you have with your pup and get to the bottom of it. Not sure exactly what the problem is? Give her a call or check out the services page!
